In 1962 George and Marcella Aikman purchased 178 acres of rolling land in Greene County near Bloomfield, Indiana. It was through the generosity of the Aikman family and the loving labor of many dedicated people that the first camp became a reality in 1963. Throughout the years many improvements have been made to the facilities. Camp Olivet is truly a place where one can get close to God and enjoy His majesty.

Camp Olivet is under the direction of the Olivet Foundation Board of Directors. There are nine members on the Board. The Foundation is a not for profit organization. There is no charge to use the facilities. The Foundation does accept financial contributions and gifts to support the ministry.

Over the years there have been six caretakers: Jim & Marie Bethune, Ray & Ruth Ann Kamstra, Jim & Patty Rollins, Lowell Ray & Renae Flynn, Bill & Shirley Gressel and Scott & Jacque Jones.

The camp is open from late May through October. Many churches and church related groups reserve the facility for week-long camps or week-end retreats.

Olivet is a very special place to many people. A place where George and Marcella’s prayers have been answered. A place that is set apart to bring honor and glory to God. A place where lives have been touched and blessed.

I lift up my eyes to the hills -

Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
The Maker of heaven and earth.

Psalm 121: 1-2
